Weightlifting was associated with a 9% lower risk of all-cause mortality
Adults who met aerobic MVPA (moderate to vigorous physical activity) recommendations but did not weightlift had a 32% lower all-cause mortality risk. This 150m/week of any aerobic activity which elevates your heart rate.
Those who reported weightlifting 1–2 times/week plus achieving weekly aerobic MVPA recommendations had a 41% lower risk.
