Myth busted: A torn ACL requires surgery!
Turns out the ACL can heal. Either by no specific intervention (56%) or an elaborate protocol (~90%).
Early surgery does NOT lead to better healing. Maybe leads to worse healing!
Patients now have treatment options and it’s up to orthopedic & rehab teams to work together to get the best outcomes for the patient.
